Message about Child Protection Policy

In view of recent press coverage regarding the issue of abuse in youth football we would like to reassure players and parents that we follow a strict protocol to recruit and screen volunteers who work directly with players and also have a Club Child Protection Policy and Officer, and all age groups/teams have an allocated Child Protection Officer too.

All volunteers meet with a member of the Youth Section Committee and volunteer coaches also meet with the Coach Development Officer.  Volunteer application forms are completed and references provided.  Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) checks are completed for Spartans FC Youth and, Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) when volunteers are registered on the SYFA database.

Anyone with any concerns should speak to their age group/team Child Protection Officer. If you don’t know who this is then ask your Head Coach.

Alternatively get in touch with the Club Child Protection Officer or any member of the Youth Section Committee.
