The annual Spartans kids adventure to the King’s Theatre will take place on Tuesday 12th December where this year’s hilarious production is Cinderella.
The 7pm show is available to all kids aged 5 to 15 and tickets cost £13 each. Friends, brothers and sisters welcome too. Adults – sorry, it’s a night out for the nippers! You can buy your own tickets and be hipsters without the wee ones elsewhere though!

Spartans 2002’s pulled off a fantastic result to progress into the Scottish Youth Cup Quarter Finals after a 4-0 victory over Ayrshire League Champions AC Irvine at Ainslie Park.
The visitors, who travelled to Edinburgh unbeaten this season, were the most fancied to make it into the hat for the next round draw however it was a polished performance from the North Edinburgh side who kept a clean sheet in the making too. Continue reading
Spartans u15s will take on Ayrshire hot-shots AC Irvine in the last 16 of the Scottish Youth Cup after their 3-1 victory over Culter at the weekend.
Spartans started strongly against the northern lads, with Joe In particular flying repeatedly down the wing. Just the final touch or too many touches enabled Culter to block numerous chances that would have seen the hosts take a deserved advantage. Continue reading

Spartans 2002 Colts progressed to the next Round of the John McConnell Memorial Cup after an impressive 11-0 victory over Salvesen CFC at Forresters High School’s 4G.
Spartans dominated possession for the outset in the fresh autumnal air and blanket blue sky with the two holding midfielders Ethan Russell and Innis Skinner utilising the width of the pitch to create many overloads out by the touchline. Continue reading
Sunday saw the 2002 Colts head across the capital to take on Currie Star Colts at Balerno High School in the Sportsassist SE Region cup.

Sun splitting the skies. Spectators squinting in the glare. Coaches throwing off their heavy Spartans jackets. The smell of sunscreen in the air. Just another normal October day in Dalkeith.
Unusually, the team was hit by last minute illness and call offs and we only had eleven players and no subs. For a normally much larger squad, it was clear that this would be a tough gig, with lots of running around and no breaks. Continue reading

Kevin Wilson’s Under 13s added the League Title to their Scottish Cup success on Monday night without a ball being kicked.

Tonight’s Under 13s Reds game against Longniddry Villa was cancelled whilst Kevin Wilson’s side were in transit to the East Lothian town as the hosts withdrew from the fixture at the 11th hour. Continue reading
The Under 13s Reds face a trip to East Lothian on Thursday night to play Longniddry Villa in a must win game as the outcome of the League Title goes down to the wire.
The Reds must secure a victory to keep their championship hopes alive following a narrow defeat to second place Leith Athletic A at the Academy on Tuesday.
The Leith side, who have a game in hand over Spartans – against Villa – and sit two points behind, take on Hutchison Vale in the other fixture.
