Spartans Youth Section FC has 3 key aims and objectives:
a) Providing Opportunities for Children and Young People to play in a safe environment
We believe letting kids play football in groups of similar ability is the way forward both for children’s development and enjoyment.
We recognise that Kids develop at different stages and at different paces and age/maturity are a big factor at the early stages…everyone is not the same.
We aim to provide a place where children can develop and learn to play football in a fun and supportive environment.
In short, it is our hope that everyone will enjoy playing the game at a level appropriate to their abilities, the best they can achieve and enjoy.
We respect and acknowledge not everyone wants to be a professional footballer, children are encouraged to try other activities.
b) Develop Players to Play football at the highest level
We seek to identify talent and potential, to develop it & help young players fulfil their potential. One of the goals for the youth section is to see players progressing through our ranks to the adults 1st team (and/or beyond).
Having players stepping up from the Youth Section Development Squad into our 1st Team squad every year is one of the medium to long term Objectives of the club Our aim is for 50% of players in 1st Team to be products of our Youth Section
Providing an elite player development pathway in our YS for talented players to reach the highest level in the game that they can.
c) Helping children and young people learn life skills and values for later life.
We provide a positive environment in which our players can develop skills that they can use beyond football to handle life’s challenges.
