Calling all Youth Section Members, Friends and Family…join the rest of The Spartans Family and take part in The Edinburgh KiltWalk 2019
Why?
To raise funds for The Spartans Community Football Academy and our Youth Section.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Academy at Ainsley Park.
The goal at the start of the journey 10 years ago was simple – to redefine what’s possible for a football club in terms of community engagement through the power of people and sport. Taking into account local community needs, efforts have focused around education, youth work, physical activity and health and well-being. In addition, our Club has become a community based anchor organisation, linking and working with lots of different local partners and organisations across the City and country as a whole to help support and improve peoples lives. In doing so, we have become a key part of the fabric of North Edinburgh.
It’s truly been an incredible journey so far. To give you a flavour of the range of things The Academy provides, please watch the following short film.

Some funds raised by the Youth Section will also directly benefit players as we aim to introduce a heart health screening program for our players once they reach the age of 14. An ECG (electrocardiogram) test is a simple way to diagnose most cardiac abnormalities, aiming to avoid young players suffer sudden cardiac complications.
When?
Sunday 15th September 2019
The Walk
There are 3 Kilt Walk distance options, but we would encourage our Teams to take part in the Wee Wonder which is 5 miles long. It costs £12.80 to register for the Wee Wonder.
How to Register
You can sign up here now: https://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/events/edinburgh/.
Please remember to select “Spartans Community Football Academy” as your chosen charity and also “The Spartans FC Youth” as the team you are joining.
Get together with your team mates, bring your friends and family. No matter how much or how little you can raise, every penny counts. This is our chance to create another truly magical Spartans Family day to remember.
We look forward to walking with you,
